Kids Paint: Monotype printing In-Person
Join us for a print-making workshop that's fun and easy enough for our youngest artists! Monotype printing is an unique process to make one-of-a-kind prints by applying paint to a smooth surface and then transferring it to paper. Please wear art-appropriate clothes. Ages 2-10. Registration Required.
In this series, we focus on process art. But what is it?
Process art is exploring art for the creative process. The focus is the joy of creating rather than a beautiful end product. Unlike traditional art projects where the goal is to create a perfect masterpiece, process art emphasizes exploration, experimentation, and expression. Children are encouraged to use various materials and techniques to create their own unique works without any set expectations or guidelines.
This style of art exploration encourages creativity and enhances problem solving skills by trial and error. When the goal is to explore the creative process, there is no pressure to perform or make everything perfect. They gain the self-confidence to create without fear, and the resiliency to bounce back from mistakes.
